Okay, have it your way. Let's do "meander through the lessons of history," as you say: Rising health care costs, which constitute a full 18% of our economy, were crippling people's budgets or, worse, excluding them from healthcare altogether; those with pre-existing conditions were completely excluded from health care; if you reached the end of your benefits you got sent home from the hospital to die (sounds like a death panel to me); and the Republicans are doing nothing.....not one damn thing......to stem this tide. Actually, I take that back....forgot all about Medicare part D and those so-called deficit hawks who produced the legislation so GWB could win re-election in 2004. Sorry, Republicans did do something.....they actually ADDED to our entitlement programs that they supposedly despise so badly and, hence, added to the debt and deficit woes that they are so against. Let me also point out that Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, John Boehner, Michelle Bachmann and the rest of the "fiscal conservatives" voted for Medicare part D, both wars, tax cuts we couldn't afford and raising the debt limit 6 different times while GWB was President without closing down the government over it one single time. There is a point where shear size and scope, make a single provider model impossible. These are your words, doll. Hate to tell you that Obamacare is not a single payer system. See, that single payer system is what those awful liberals wanted. What we got, Obamacare, with all of it's evil individual mandates, was actually the brainchild of the Republicans "think-tank" called the Heritage Foundation. If you are going to criticize something, at least know your subject matter. Why are you so obsessed with the middle east? You, and your "reliable" sources sure do like imagining some wild conspiracies about our involvement in the Middle East. I just want to know why? I would go into every single detail but I think Red did a very succinct job of doing so.
It's no secret we have been meddling in the ME for a long time now. Those whom are our enemies today have been our friends in the past and vice versa. Not to mention the countless billions we send to SA. Or our propping up of dictators whom cause atrocities to their own people. Why he brought that up in this thread I have no idea but don't go stick your head in the sand like most American's when it comes to this country's foreign policy of intervention. Oh wait I forgot... We are helping Israel..
I'm beginning to be afraid what may happen is something you two are touching on without realizing. Obama indeed wants it to fail so the only quick-fix would be TO go to a single payer system. Anyone think that it could come to that?
"If you like your plan and the doctor you have, you can keep it." Lying muther phucker. And there's proof he knew this would not happen. About as bad as that cock sucker Bush saying, "Read my lips..."
Oh, No! It's . . . it's . . . the damned Socialists! Barry wants his legacy, his signature legislation to fail! How devious! Then President Hillary can create Universal Care on the wreckage of his efforts and take the credit for America catching up with the Western world. How ingenious!
There's nothing I'd put past that racist bastard. And btw, the Fed site is down again. What happens if/when this bullshit of his fails is something you may want to start thinking about. As it stands now, the democrats are signing up in droves but the working peeps who'll fund it (like everything else) aren't. Spread your ass cheeks pal, Barry's about to shove a butt plug up that iron ass.
This administration can't even pass a budget. So why is it theyre so hell strung about having the govt babysit them? I personally think the less the govt intrusion the better. I'd love for the democrats to get everything they want. As long as they keep it too themselves. Self reliance. If you don't take care of yourself. I don't give a fuck what happens to you. This is what I tell all my volunteer firefighters. My ass. Your ass. Thei shit. That's the Order of Importance.
Short version is we could end up with a net of more unemployed people than before. For starters, youngsters are better off paying 95 bucks a year penalty than 200 a month. In addition, millions are getting kicked off of current coverage. Think of a pyramid scheme. The ones paying in may not be. There are some serious issues red. Even I didn't think it would be so phucked up though I worried because of testimonials from medical folk, who supposedly read it, told us it would be. Low and behold the White house is strong-arming them to keep it zipped. I predict someone will assassinate that monkey-eared communist bastard. Sabanfan tried to warn us.
