dude i've lived all over the USA. San Diego to Connecticut. Chicago to Tx and Va to good old mississippi. I've worked with northerners and southerners and the northerners are more racist than the southerners ever were. Go to new york, this block is irish, that ones italian, chinese, black, puerto ricon, jews and so on. you can say slope head, shanty, wet back, or chink but don't say nigger. oops! i must be a racist. about as racist as obama, al and jesse. I'll take the south anyday. I'm an equal opportunity offender.

i have no problems with the poor. just the lazy freeloaders. i feel that people living off taxpayers should be working for taxpayers. cleaning streets, filling potholes, painting buildings and delivering mail even. this fair share stuff is bullshit. you point out someone who thinks the "rich" should be paying more and i'll show you someone who looks for every deduction they can find on there own taxes. and why can't i afford a 60" flat screen tv yet the woman buying groceries with foodstamps can? why does the fire truck cost the county $250,000 and the same truck costs a civilian $90,000? how did SpaceX do what NASA did for a third the money? how come joe taxpayer, making $50000 a year, gets his savings wiped out from emergency room visit and the crackhead that steps in front of a car not get billed and ends up sueing for a million? you wanna see something go to hell in a handbasket, just put a politician and lawyer in charge of it.

You know, everybody feels the same way. Fortunately there just aren't that many freeloaders and most of them are street people and drawing zero benefits. Two comments:

1-There has always been some portion of the population that are freeloaders. In most developing countries it is over 50%. In Europe it approaches 5%. But freeloaders have always been low number in America because there are just so many opportunities. There are only 650,000 homeless in America (2 tenths of a percent of the population). 60% of those are temporally homeless families and sheltered in some fashion. But the perennial street people that are total freeloaders . . . there just ain't that many of them.

2-We will never make that number zero. As low as it is in this country, there will always be some freeloaders.

There are some that work themselves into frustration and anger over it. I just don't get that. It ignores the big chart I posted above. The money spent on them doesn't even show up on that size-based chart. It is a pittance of the money being spent on middle class benefits. Why get angry and upset over petty crap like a handful of freeloaders who don't have shit anyway. Stress kills. This is something that we should bitch about for a few minutes then move on.

The reason that Obama extended the tax cuts was b/c it was part of a negotiation with Congress. He would extend the Bush-era tax cuts for the wealthy if they would extend the unemployment benefits for the unemployed. This happened back when the government was threatening to "shut down" if Congress and the POTUS did not make a deal, if I'm remembering correctly. Anyways, THAT is why Obama extended the tax cuts for the wealthy.

There is only 1 commander in chief.

It is his job to pull them together..

That's bullshit and a cop out. I am a life long, staunch republican. It's time for this blame game to stop. Bush was a f'up too. However, Bush had a Dem congress, Obama has a Repub congress. Damnit, quit all the name calling, work toward the good of the country, and fix this crap! They should all be fired. Too bad you can't impeach them all for being obstructionists. There is enough blame to go around to all concerned. LSUpride123, until you concede this, YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM!

Preach on, brother! I am tired of the obstructionist crap also and you are right, it goes both ways. What we need are level headed reasonable people who can work together to get some things done. Right now, and frankly, for the past 20 years all we've heard is that it is the other guys fault. There is enough blame to go around....time to go to work.

    Well said, Kyle....very well said.

Do some research, I never said Bush wasn't a problem.

I actually said it was everyone, but there IS only 1 leader. He needs to act like it.

    You speak without purpose.
