Elections are about momentum. Obama's slipping at a bad time...for him that is. http://news.yahoo.com/warning-signs-obama-path-electoral-votes-153258403.html
Romney did seem to gain his footing this week. Still over five months until the election and still Obama's to lose.
Yea, the Bush's fault argument is still holding strong for him. God forbid we get a real leader who accepts responsibility no mater the root cause..
I dunno, but I don't think he would continue to blame Obama if he wins, yet that is not something we will know unless he wins. It's time to quit blaming people and just fix the fucking problem..... Bush isn't in office anymore so put on your big boy pants and go the fuck to work......
I agree but it has to work both ways. Was watching Meet the Press this morning and they had Dick Durbin and Paul Ryan on as guests. David Gregory asked them both, "If the other party's candidate is elected President in November, will you work with the President on a compromise to reduce our debt and re-work the tax code to eliminate loop holes, etc." I found it particularly troubling that both of them could not say that they would. If each party is just going to block the agenda of the opposing party, we are going to continue to have grid lock and nothing will get done to really fix the problems. It used to be that elections meant something: when you won it was a signal to your opponent that the public favored your ideas and, with some compromise, you could enact your agenda. For over two hundred years our political system functioned well that way but it seems those days are behind us now.
Accept responsibility for what, exactly? Obama did not invade Iraq. Obama did not crash the economy. Of course, he can accept responsibility for getting us out of Iraq and getting us out of the recession.
(Email I received) You know the honeymoon is over, when the comedians start. Q: What's the difference between Obama and his dog, Bo? A: Bo has papers. --Jimmy Kimmel Q: Have you heard about McDonald's' new Obama Value Meal? A: Order anything you like and the guy behind you has to pay for it. --Conan O'Brien Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program? A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road. --David Letterman Q: If Nancy Pelosi and Obama were on a boat in the middle of the ocean and it started to sink, who would be saved? A: America ! --Jimmy Fallon Q: What's the difference between Obama's cabinet and a penitentiary? A: One is filled with tax evaders, blackmailers, and threats to society. The other is for housing prisoners. --David Letterman The liberals are asking us to give Obama time. We agree...and think 25 to life would be appropriate. --Jay Leno America needs Obama-care like Nancy Pelosi needs a Halloween mask. --Jay Leno Q: What does Barack Obama call lunch with a convicted felon? A: A fund raiser. --Jay Leno
Exactly my point, you do not have a clue what a real leader is. It doesn't matter who started what, who invaded what, and who caused the bad economy. A real leader accepts the problems as there own and moves forward... You are out of touch..
I DO think that Obama has accepted the problems as his own and has dealt with them accordingly. That does not mean that he caused the problems or that he should accept blame for them. Nor does it mean that the solutions he has offered have always worked. But, regardless of how they have tried to change the narrative, the truth is that GWB inherited a budget surplus and 4-5% unemployment from Slick Willie. In the eight years of his Presidency the unemployment rate went up to almost 9 percent, the budget surplus was erased in favor of drastic tax cuts during a costly war and Medicare part D was implemented in order for GWB to win re-election in 2004. These are not partisan talking points, these are the facts. All of this said, the Republicans started blaming Obama the day he took office for the problems they created during the preceding 8 years. For Republicans to now claim the mantle of fiscal conservatives is an insult to our intelligence. Granted, there was democratic support for all of these foolish measures too so the Republicans are not solely to blame. Obama has had his own missteps, no doubt about it, but much of the spending that Obama is getting blamed for now was initiated during the GWB administration.....like both wars and medicare part D and tax cuts that no one ever asked for and the first bank bailout. These facts have been ignored but it is the truth.
