What are everyone's thoughts on Obama vacillating on prosecution of Bush officials that are responsible for interpreting waterboarding as "not torture", as in the lawyers who gave the cia/army the go ahead for this tactic? Other than partisan hatred, does anyone really think this is productive for either the country, the military, or even Obama's presidency? I have to say, I am surprised he has chosen this path, and I think it's going to blow up in his face.
I don't think prosecuting them will do any good, but that's just my opinion. He should just let it rest.
I dont believe he wanted to choose this path. He had just came back from CIA headquarters telling them not to worry and 24 hours later he is skating. I think he was placating the left wing nut jobs after they probably came crashing down on him after the visit. It accomplishes nothing and I dont believe it will ever amount to anything.
Is it productive for the country?...NO Are some more concerned about their party than the country?...YES Is this another rookie mistake by a guy who isn't as well-rounded and experienced as the media tried to make him appear?...YES Are Pelosi, Reid, Frank and others trying to use Obama as their puppet?...YES Some may still have hope but this surely isn't change.
Does anyone see the irony in releasing the imprisoned terrorists and then wanting to prosecute the ones that put them in prison?
