Not completely MM. You have to remember this Congress was in place long before Obama and is by far the WORST in the history of this country.

Much of the incompetence and many of the problems we're now facing can be placed on the shoulders of current members of Congress.

The difference is the weak Republicans were voted out of office and the weak Democrats are still there.

This Congress demonstrates the reason we should never have one party in complete control...especially when it's the far side (in this case far left) that runs the show.

I think some people in this country have realized our recent voting mistake and just want to slow this train down before we completely derail in hopes we may achieve more balance in the next election cycle.

Regarding the speech...I guess we'll never know what Obama would've said had there not been a public uproar. As it stands the speech wasn't bad...or political like it probably would've been. To that extent, the voice of the people was succesful in letting elected officials know who's really in charge.

Had there not been proposed lesson plans accompanying the speech, I doubt many people would've objected. I think the "What can you do for President Obama?" is what set people off.

this will be the downfall of america. not terrorists or illegals or govt spending, but the inability to get anything done. for this i will blame all americans that support either party 90% of the time. you are idealistic sheep that feed the inept legislative beast.

what exactly are these things we need to "get done"? when was the last time you saw a piece of legislation that was actually good?

these things that "get done" just make things worse. that is what congress does, they make things worse. the best thing a politician can do is be an absolute obstructionist and refuse to favor anything except the repeal of previous things.

the opposite of what you said is true. the downfall of the country will be the ability of our legislators to actually pass legislation.

the only thing either party ever really does right is oppose the other party and deny them from getting anything done. this is when the system is working.

if republicans shout down ever mention of obama's ideas, that would be fantastic. if they dont even let him speak, they instead shout over him and call him racial slurs, that would be heroic.

the way to fix it is to repeal it.

the particulars of this that the government is proposing are terrible.

    fine.

military spending should be increased a ton. its one of about 4 things we should spend on. bullets for killing brown folks.

    bad idea.

again, these are things being repealed, not really doing things. you are right that congress is doing well when they are undoing things they have done. presumably in the past someone like you thought the government needed to get off their ass anad manage the farm industry. instead they destroyed it.

wrong. government money perverts science, for the most part. military science is good, disease management is good, most other things are terrible and should be funded privately. your representatives would ruin them.

nope. mexicans should be welcomed with open arms, racist.

any politican that even mentions the bcs should be waterboarded and beaten to within an inch of his life.
