For accusing someone else of taking offense, you sure are being sensitive your damn self. Stop acting like a woman.

I couldn't care less about Obama. And I don't care about whether or not what he said was politically acceptable. I won't lose any sleep if this costs him the nomination (even though it won't). What I do care about is the fact that any time someone voices opposition to the Bush administration, they are somehow disrespecting the troops.

It is disrespectful to insinuate that one's existence was a waste. It is not disrespectful to believe that the bravery and sacrifice of our soldiers is being used in vein.

I thought that you were the one that made light of death? And you're complaining that someone else was being disrespectful?

isnt that what obama said? that the soldiers lives were wasted? is that the sort of thing parents want to hear about their dead children? a smart politician wouldnt say that.

he should have said that, not that their lives were wasted.

some people deserve more respect than others. dead people i disrespect (the pope, mother teresa) are not in the same league as soldiers. soldiers actually are doing something admirable. i wouldnt describe their sacrifice as "waste".

this isnt a question of people opposing a statement simply because they are blind bush followers, it was a genuinely dumb thing for a politician to say.

edit: i now read that obama is apologizing for poor word choice, which he should, and that is what sabanfan and i have been saying.

yes this was reported last night where he came right back and said he misspoke, once his advisors told him about the outcry soon to follow.

i cant for the life of me find how any of these people running are qualified in any way to be president. especially this obama hussein fella. i think i hate everyone running.

The Congressional register lists his religion as United Church of Christ. If you are going to attack someone you should at leat attack them on something true.

i read about his conversion to christianity, and to me it read like his conversion to political aspirations. when it is time to get serious about your political career, you damn well better start pretending to be christian.

i often think about what i prefer the lying atheist, or the sincere lunatic christian. i am pretty sure i side with the lunatic.

it really amuses/pleases me that his middle name is hussein

Barack Hussein Obama conveniently became affiliated with the Church of Christ as he entered politics. He's done a nice job of reinventing his childhood and religious background, depending on the sources of information on the subject. CNN, the AP, and his own camp make him out as a candidate for the Papacy rather than the Presidency.

So Saddam Hussein had better idea's about controlling the Shia-Sunni problem? The Shias and Sunnis have been fighting for 1400 years and Muslims have hated Christians for just as long, those are the reasons for the current problems, not the Bush administration.
