I have been very open minded about this conflict, and I have been encouraged before, and it has all been for naught. If and when genuine progress is made I will be truly happy. Until then I will wait.
So what are you waiting for? Flower petals tossed ahead of our troops as the trudge into Baghdad? Every time a f*cking raghead gets a bullet in his turban, I look at it as a victory for the good guys. You liberals need to grow a pair and quit looking at war as though it were a soccer match.
First I'm not a liberal. I think few here would charge me as such. I have no problem with the military eliminating injuries. What I am saying is one day of success off the troop surge doesn't amount to much unless the trend continues. Also, we could easily wipe them off the planet. If that is what constitutes victory why are we wasting time babysitting their civil war?
OK. You're not a liberal. Neither are Red and Chaos. You just want to ignore everything outside our fences and act like feeding the poor will make everything all hunky dorey. Whatever. It's not a civil war. It's a war against the infildel Americans. Our being there keeps them away from here.
Few of the insurgents in Iraq had ties to terrorist cells prior to our invasion. If we weren't there these guys would still be fearing their secular iron fisted dictator and not plotting to blow up those of the other sect or, more importantly, our troops.
You know, it's sad that certain people simply have to exist in a polarized mindstate, one that knows only extremes, and that inherently demonizes anything outside of complete conformity. For the life of me, I can't imagine why someone like that would continually subject themselves to an arena where different opinions are (supposed to be) encouraged. Frankly, if I was a liberal, I'd be the first one to tell you. And I sure as heck wouldn't need anyone to tell me. Besides, who cares? Really, what good does it do to incessantly make assertions aboue people's affiliations? It's childish.
Maybe you should rethink your statement? http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/gunning/interviews/khodada.html
You should read your own links. This story is long discredited. It even says so on that page. Multiple CIA reports as well as the Baker Commission have said that few of the Iraqi insurgents had ties to terrorism prior to the US invasion.
Yes, I missed the editors note so I stand corrected! I STILL say your statement isn't accurate. I don't believe you have any way of knowing about terrorist ties in Iraq or that they wouldn't be plotting to blow up Americans if Americans weren't there. That is what caught my eye about your statement in the first place.
