Ah, you really crack me up, sometimes! That article was written during the 2008 campaign and clearly indicates that Obama supported the FISA Act as a senator. This is actually proof that he did not break a campaign promise and supported the Bush-promoted legislation while he was campaigning. :hihi: As a bonus, it also demolishes SabanFans assertion that Obama never goes against the wishes of the liberal left wing. Great find, mahtin.
So you can't produce a list of his failures, eh? Sure, just change the topic and make it all about Red. I don't love him, I supported Hillary. I voted for him because he was Not The Republican. What mistakes are you referring to? Backed off of "failures", eh? :hihi: I don't support everything he proposes. I've stated repeatedly that the Health Care Plan could have waited until the bailouts had been repaid and the Stimulus had been completed. But the system is broken and unsustainable, so it must be done sometime. Still, it's just a political decision and not a failure unless it fails. It hasn't even been signed yet! I argue for him for three reasons: 1. Because he gets accused of absurd and ridiculous things by people who only know what they hear from FOX commentators and Limbaugh. They are just too easy to shoot down. 2. Because few others take his side. We can't have an argument without two sides. I'm sure it will come as a shock to you that that I play the Devils Advocate here a lot just to keep the discussion interesting. 3. It pisses off SabanFan.
that you have to ask proves my point. that a "moderate" needs to ask what obama is doing wrong doesnt make sense, does it?
This mistake was not declaring war and mettling over in the sand for the last 8 years and propping up our deficit at some 1 trillion bucks a year doing it. This has nothing to do with our national defense. In fact it's almost doing the opposite. We have been fighting a "war" with no country and against no army, navy, or air force for the last 8 years. If you really wanted the bad guys dead then dropping the BOMB and apologizing after would have been an easier and cheaper choice. Sending 30,000 or 100,000 more troops isn't going to solve anything. In fact nothing about this "war" is going to solve anything. We marched right in and can march the F right back out. And don't get me started on Pre-Emptive War and Just War that left the principles of these "conservatives".
presumably you knew i couldnt find any problems with obama because obama is perfect and there is nothing to find.
No, just obliging you to concede that concern about his policies do not constitute mistakes or failures on his part until he actually fails. I expect he will have some failures, all Presidents, do. But so far . . . what?
Wouldn't you call these failures to uphold his "promises" ? PolitiFact | The Obameter: Obama's Campaign Promises that are Promise Broken
not really. i just try to form an opinion about an issue independent of anything else (family, religion, other issues, political party). i loathe abortion, teachers' unions and support tort reform. rational. similar to the approxiamately 10% of congressmen that most often cross party lines. that "gridlock" equals wasted money. trimming the fat, as i assume you'd support, would be getting $hit done, for example.
Hey, I'm glad you pointed that site out! They won the Pulitzer Prize this year. Let's see . . . Out of 516 campaign promises his record is: Promise Kept = 57 Compromise = 15 In the Works = 165 Stalled = 18 Promise Broken = 7 No action yet = 254 Yes, I think a 1% broken promise rate is remarkably good for a national polititican.
