That seems about right to me. Though, Conventions were at one time extremely contentious and this could very well be a return to that.

Consider this as motivation for Clinton to give this everything she's got:

Obama wins, serves two terms - Clinton would then be 69. Will the dems nominate her at 69 after having a "young" President for 8 years? Let's say they do, but the standard party reversal happens.

Change in power back to GOP for one term, she's at that time 73. Two terms, she's 77.

If she doesn't win this time, she's likely out of it.

There's a good chance she takes this to the Convention if there's ANY shot at wresting it from Obama there. This is all about her at the end of the day.

Ahmanutjob complains that Hillary is stating the obvious. Geeez.

Hillary is sticking around with hope that the Rezko trial will expose the money trail that leads right through the Cook County Forest Preserve District budget.

That trial is creeping along, but Fitzpatrick is such an egotistical showboat that he may even be timing this potential Obama free-fall.

On the other side, I know of several Republicans who are going to celebrate long and hard if Hillary is knocked out of the race.

In an election cycle where the Democrats, by all accounts, should clean up, they are going to nominate a very weak candidate in Obama and make it a very close race.

A better question is...How will Dems who have condemned our war on Iraq without evidence that they were directly involved in 9/11, react if we went to a war with a country much larger and more powerful than Iraq, in the name of defending an ally? Would it be OK because it would be "Hillary's war", as opposed to "Bush's war"?

The Israelis can take care of their own nuclear retaliation, obviously. They may even pre-empt an Iranian attempt to build a weapon. Hillary was just puncturing their pompous Iranian martial rhetoric by reminding them that the US can make Iran into a parking lot in 20 minutes. McCain has done this also. Obama wants to negotiate with Ahmanutjob. I'm quite sure he can speak softly, I'm not at all convinced that he can carry The Big Stick.

Well. You know what they say...

Another point of agreement, Red. Iranian political leadership cannot be dealt with using the velvet glove stuff. Useless, as proven by the hapless UN and EU efforts.

The carrot AND the stick has always worked better than the carrot OR the stick alone.
