As a father of two kids, one of which has been in the special Olympics and another that will be when she is older... As most of you know I'm no Obama fan but I don't believe that he said or meant it in a way to harm special needs people, at least I hope not. I think it was of poor taste and judgement though!
If Bush would have said it would anyone have batted an eye? Bush misspoke so often. Seriously, though, it was a mistake and who gives a f. Strange to agree with Sourdoughman and The Dude in one thread. I doubt the outrage would be much worse had Bush had made this statement.
Obama=good Bush = bad It'll always be that way. Let's dismiss this as a faux pas and get on with finding out why Congess is crucifying AIG for something they knew about and approved in advance.
I fixed it for you! Lets have hearings on Freddic Mac and Fannie May and find out what roles Barney Frank and Chris Dodd had helping bring down the housing market!
AMEN brother! They're all trying to cover their tracks and need to be held accountable. Regarding the Obama comment...it wasn't just insensitive...it was STUPID. Contrary to what MSNBC and other media may try to spin, Obama made a STUPID remark and it should be seen as such. The ultimate speaker is HUMAN after all. Next time stick to the rehearsed speeches.
At the very least its evidence that he's not as sensitive or bright as some people believe. And it surely must make you wonder what lurks (or doesn't) beneath his facade. How many slips before he's called stupid?
not only the fannie mae/freddie mac debacle mainly trumpeted by dems, but the derelguation and lack of enforcement of the current laws by republicans led to this. plenty of blame for both parties.
Agreed. Is two entrenched parties the same as one, in the long-run? Really, they're gravitating closer to each other every year, just with different power brokers and subtle differences. We need to break up the two party monopoly. I wonder what some of their rules & regs are holding down other parties?
