Do you know what socialism actually is? It's collective ownership at its core. Make your case why you think this health plan constitutes collective ownership. Good luck.

    In your mind, only.

    It's unreadable and indecipherable.

Obama is on record favoring a single payor system. His goal is total government control. I base that on his history, his associations and his ears.

Govt. owns a "health care company", aka taxpayers own it. Otherwise known as collective ownership, nationalization, state control. However you want to label it.

Is that not what the reform battle is about. Those that have not and those that have?

not only this health care, but now we collectively own all sorts of crap, like financial companies, and car companies.

and because we have thrown so much money at people like GM, then we have to scam everyone with cash for clunkers to keep our collectively owned company afloat. that is not just kinda socialism, it is explicitly exactly socialism.

of course it is. people think its a good thing because they can see someone buying a new car thinking its stimulating the economy.

the fact is, the government had to subsidize it to entice someone to buy something they normally would not have. this is artificial demand which is bad for all other businesses that would have benefited otherwise.

overall we are poorer as a country for spending x_amount on something we value less; funded by our very own tax dollars on top of it. letting the market play out and allowing people to spend their money on something they want puts an actual value on that service or product.

this is actually a lose/lose for the economy but looks good on the surface.

give them credit. atleast they let the market decide that 80% of the cars purchased would be asian.

Socialism would permit no private company involvement, no free commerce alternatives, and require mandatory state doctors, hospitals, and clinics. The Health care plan envisioned does involve private providers, allows most of us to opt out for better plans, and doesn't require gulag-type state doctors and hospitals. It's just non-profit insurance.

So you are willing to agree that this move is a socialistic tendency. AKA moving in the direction closer to socialism and further from capitalism.
