The consequences of letting the market "fix itself" would have been far worse.

Many, many jobs would have been lost. Many, many more homes would have been lost. The credit markets would have dried up crippling what was left of the economy. We would have sunk into a depression unlike any seen before.

Why not just take the money from the rich? They can afford it.:dis:

Why don't we wait and see if it's merely propped up. We'll never agree on this. I think doing something is better than doing nothing.
