I can live with being called narrow-minded, as long as the breadth of my mind is as consistent with God's truth as it can be. One would be persuaded differently by listening to you. When you run for President, it is. My point is that if I were to run for President in 8 years, the most you'd get on me is that I took antidepressant pills for 8 years and had a child out of wedlock. You wouldn't find anyone who could testify that I once associated with terrorists, used illegal drugs, or supported the Palestinian Liberation Organization.
Based upon your God's truth I could make the assumption that you think men are better than women and that a woman should serve her man right....?? I could smear it all day long with the God's truth remark. Don't think you are out of the weather of political junk.
Inasmuch as the man should love his wife as Christ loves the church, yes, a man is master of his household. It's a Biblically ordained position of authority but not one of superiority. Quoting your incomplete and incorrect rendition of Scripture is fairly common amongst femanazis who attack Governor Palin for holding those same beliefs.
Now, don't go all ANDOUILLE on me, tossing around unfounded accuations. Obama associated with an College Professor, not a terrorist. Obama knows a Palestinian, but has never advocated the Palestinian cause, much less supported the PLO. I challenge you to document this. Obama smoked some dope as a youth, which puts him a class with George Bush, Bill Clinton, and over half the country, who understand and are voting for him.
I'm not going to get into this further, but Ephesians 5 emphasizes that the husband is to have a sacrificial love for his wife much more than that the wife is to be in submission to her husband. Again, it's not an issue of superiority, but authority.
And I challenge Obama to document that it is as you say. He (and you) continues to treat this as a non-issue when, in fact, it's a huge question that may cost Obama dearly.
I'm only 3 years older than you Deek, so we grew up in basically the same world. I did it all in college legal and otherwise. I even became truly addicted to Crown Royal. And not in the usual I gotta drink with my buds addiction. I had a problem that I couldn't control. It ruled my life from my mid to my late teens. I was heading down the wrong path at a high rate of speed and wasn't wearing a seat belt. It has been almost 11 years since I've touched Crown now. The person I am now is not even close to the person I was. However, the person I was (and no longer desired to be) helped shape who I am today. Telling/teaching people to avoid the horrors of addiction are nothing compared to living them. I truly think I am a better person today because of my experience. I'm now 30, married, and have 2 wonderful children, and a very good job. I am not an alcoholic, and do not associate with alcoholics. It's in the past. It's over and I grew out of it. 20 years from now, I don't want people belittling me for mistakes I made (and corrected/learned from) in my younger years.
Absolutely. People are capable of change and given more chances if those mistakes are corrected and atoned for. Problem is Obama still hangs around his "mistakes" and they still influence his policies. Obama has done everything imaginable to try and distance himself from his radical circle of influence for political expediency, and the press has virtually given him cover. One need not look too hard at this commie draped in the American flag to see his true self.
