W is a good example. he got a 10% bonus when the rangers were sold and paid cap gains on it not income tax. so they pay him a couple hundred thousand as income then give him many, many millions as a bonus that he pays cap gains on.

i promise you that i pay income taxes on my christmas bonus---hell, they withhold it.

    here's another---warren buffet

"Buffett cited himself, the third-richest person in the world, as an example. Last year, Buffett said, he was taxed at 17.7 percent on his taxable income of more than $46 million. His receptionist was taxed at about 30 percent."

and he even points out that he isnt even using tax shelters to get off easy.

My take on this is that he already paid taxes on the money he used to buy his portion of the Rangers so he had already paid income taxes.
Just how many times do you people want to tax someone's money, over and over and over.

    Sabanfan,
I figured out the change Obama talks about.
That is, only change will be left in your pockets once he gets through taxing everyone to death!

So Buffet paid over $8 Million and his secretary paid about $7500. I find it difficult to get outraged over that.

I paid about 30 large last year if that helps.

Really, $7500 seems like pocket change compared to 8 million.
Matter of fact I bet anyone that paid 8 million dollars in taxes probably has $7500 in pocket change around the house!

The fact that a receptionist is severely overtaxed doesn't justify overtaxing everyone. The answer isn't raising taxes, it's reducing the size of the government teet. Federal bureaucracy is astonishingly wasteful.

absolutely, but my issue with the current tax structure is fairness. hell, thats basically why this country was started---fairness, not "we dont want to pay taxes"

Amazing, in other words he spent some of his income, hard earned money that he worked for to buy his share of the team.
That means he had to pay income taxes on the money already so he had been taxed once already.
