His bow is reprehensible and could be considered subversion at best and treason at worst. Why exactly is he apologizing to anyone that will listen? Is he trying to tell the world that we've been wrong, and in the span of an hour, have completely changed our opinions? This infantile act simply tells the world that they have been right all along, and we are finally yielding to their interests. That would be perfectly fine if their interests were the same as ours. Alas, they're not. And not even close. Even the White House thinks bowing is a bad idea. That's why they claim that he was just stooping down. Hmmm....is Wee Man the King of Saudi Arabia? If not, President Goodwrench was implicitly telling these people that he hopes for Saudi America.
WOW!! You got a lot more out of that bow than I did. My best guess is that the bow was meant as a sign of respect to fellow leader of a country. Nothing more, nothing less. Problem is that in their culture, a bow is viewed quite differently. Hence the uproar. Was he wrong to bow? Probably, but I'm only basing that on the opinions in this thread of what a bow means to a muslim (no clue how accurate they are). Was it meant to say "we're your bitch now, please bomb the **** out of us and kill all christians, jews, and atheists. We officially surrender to all people that hate us"? highly doubtful. As far as the "how many rookie mistakes is he allowed" questions: I think its safe to assume that every president in the history of this country has made them. More than once. This one will too, and so will the next guy.
Re: the statement I bold-highlighted. If that was the case, why is the king of SA the only head of state he bowed to? Does he have no respect for the queen of England, our oldest and most trusted ally? I don't know how many other heads of state were present at this summit, but I haven't heard about Pres BO bowing to anyone else?
Don't know. Like I said, its just a guess. Don't know if he did or didn't bow to anyone else. Using your logic, why did he "submit" only to Saudi? Surely there were other powerful middle eastern heads at the sumit.
The point is that Obama should have known better. Unfortunately, the idiot voters drank the kool aid and thought that experience isn't important as long as you can talk pretty and fool the ignorant masses into thinking they are getting something out of it.
According to Wikipedia.... Saudi Arabia and Turkey were the only "Muslim" nations there. Saudi Arabia is an "Islamic absolute monarchy" according to Wiki, while Turkey is a "parliamentary republic."
