When the government starts making personal and financial decisions for us it can only be bad. Social Security is a prime example. The governemnt forces me and my employer to pay taxes which they put into a retirement account for me. I am told that one day I will be able to draw this money for myself, but by all accounts, by the time I am old enough to reap the benefits the money will be long gone. If I had control of that money I could have had a a) better lifestyle today, b) invested it and earned a much better return than the government, and c)my employer would have more money to hire, compensate, and grow. Instead I am throwing 6% of my income into a bush every month.
This is the attitude Obama and his band of infidels rely upon. You won't feel the pain until it's too late. Funny you should mention Nazi Germany.
I SIMPLY CAN'T wait for the taxes to kick in and for people around here that still support Obama and the Dems, their crooked health care plan. I want to here some on here squeal like a bunch of pigs. When you think about it they will be taxed pretty heavily for giving people insurance that don't have it. Some will get no personal value at all out of this. I don't know, maybe some of those I'm thinking of here don't pay income tax?

No, the govt is going to tell you what to eat, and what to breathe, and then tax you accordingly. Through compliance or defiance. They get it either way. It's about money and power, not about your well being. And since you are bright enough to believe that the govt is concerned about your well-being, I have some land you might be interested in...
I hate to be the guy that worked in Washington for 7 years and dealt with these idiots and their staffers near daily, but..PLEASE note the dates for the big items. Most are after next Presidential election, and stuff happens all the time. I do not know the outcome, but I do know that in 10 years, it won't look much like what all the hoopla is about today. It just won't. Personally, I do not see much in what they have that is all that odious. It has been a while since SS tax has gone up, and I no longer make the big bucks, so not too worried about top end penalties. Yeah, rich folks will probably pay more, but it is better than being hung, which happens from time to time to the rich, anyway. I am much more concerned about the quality of the FL recruiting class, the longevity of the Gumps, and JJ's ability to read a defense and make good, timely decisions. You should be too. And...the only reason my wife ain't out there mowin right now cause she is in the kitchen makin me a ham sammich. That's right!!!
Hey Halloween Run, What about the debt, where is all of this money going to come from to pay for the debt, Stimulus and national health care? Why do you make this seem to be a walk in the park? Medicare is broke, Social Security is broke? What makes you think everything will be ok in ten years? This part isn't directed at you? Why does everyone ignore the obvious fact that the stimulus and this health bill will destroy this country financially? Far cry from the partisons here and around the world criticizing the last administrations spending.
