If for no other reason than to measured by my principles and not my party. Being a democrat or republican doesn't mean crap. Plenty to be embarrassed of by both. I also love shutting up morons who accuse me of being republican. As if that could deflect a single one of my arguments. It shows just how shallow-minded the majority of voters really are. Actually, my eighteen year old is a step-daughter, and technically has never "lived" with me. No, she doesn't think like me in all things. For instance she loves pot, and I don't. But she still has a brain and understands the basic principles of the the growth of govt and the shrinkage of personal rights. That's strike two scooter. Wanna keep on trying to look stupid? Re: Links to Full Text of Health Care Bills i will continue to work for finding the middle and to advance the person, not the party. for years i was a voting delegate within the democratic party. i believed that if those of us in the party did not fight to set the platform and agenda to the middle, then we were turning it over to the far left. but it happened anyway because the moderates rolled over and played dead. i was slammed because i dared to say obama has shown moderate tendencies in some areas, such as foreign policy. yes, he is a liberal, but i give anyone credit when they do something i support. i wasnt crazy about w either, but when he did things i supported, i said so. i did not criticize his every move because i carried the label of democrat. i have always tried to look past the party and support ideas and give credit where credit is due. but with this, the party leaders ran amok, and too many in the party that opposed it did not step up, or worse, allowed themselves to be bought. because of that, i can no longer carry the label of democrat. i guess you are a bigger man than me in that respect. but i just cant do it.
So, basically what you are telling me is that regardless of what its about the government telling you you must do something is bad.
