really? tell me, exactly which rights of mine that i exercise, will be stripped. Because i was still able to accomplish my daily routine without government intervention this morning.

Your daily routine must be watching TV until the mailman delivers the check.

think of something you want but cannot afford. you would have that thing already if the government were smaller. the economy would be better, your job would pay more. everyone you know would be richer.

in fact the people who are poor around the world would be be better off because if the american economy were run by a minimalist govt like i favor, we would be so rich that it would have an enormous lifting effect on the world (this is of course true now to some extent, but it could be so much more). we would buy so much crap that it would bring poor people out of poverty around the world and generally be the best thing possible that could happen to humankind. we have the potential to be the greatest force for human happiness the world has ever known. but we dont do it, because of people like you.

not quite. I get up around 6:30 fix breakfast for my daughter, get her ready to go to school, get dressed myself, make sure the dog is fed, and everything is good to go before i go to work. I go to work and i try and find people jobs all day, while keeping tabs on 150 other employees under me. Get home, fix supper, bathe my daughter, get her and my stuff ready for the next day. (oh i also read her a book after the bath). Watch a little tube around 10p.m. then start over when i wake up at 6:30 the next day.

i might as well come out of the closet and do it here. and also explain a bit of back ground.

up until today, i spent my entire adult life, since i first registered to vote, as a democrat. i have voted for people in both parties, and have long considered myself to be a blue dog democrat. i have actively campaigned and worked for people in both parties. my goal was always to find the moderate, no matter which party, and support that person. in a conservative state like oklahoma, it has always been easier to find a moderate that was a democrat. but not so easy to get them elected because it is a closed primary state. (that is another rant).

i have been active in politics since i was a little girl. when i was around 10, my father started taking me to the voting booth with him, explaining why it was important to vote. long before i could even drive, i was joining him campaigning for politicians that he supported, understanding the importance in the political process.

but today, i went and changed my registration from democrat to independent. i have resisted for a long time because this is a closed primary state. i am pretty much shut out of the primary system now because this is a two party state. but with the moderates capitulating to the far left in the party, making deals, and advancing only their own interests, i can no longer in good conscious remain a democrat. the party that i have worked all my adult life to help find the middle abandoned that middle at the very time they had the opportunity to grasp it.

i found it appropriate that on the form for re-registering i had three options. democrat, republican, or "no party". because that is how i feel. there is no longer a party that represents me or my beliefs.

How bout the fact that yesterday you were free to make your own decision on the question of "Do I need health insurance or not?" Today the government is dictating to you that you need it, must have it, and will be penalized if you don't comply.
