Yah like the whole Swine Flu waste of time and money. More people die from the regular flu every year but the govt. thought it was vital to well-being to pump billions into this "scare".

    WASTE.

Are you predicting the insurance industry will disappear if healt reform passes? Want to make a wager on that?

Well, you were quoting me and I've never made that point. It's disingenuous and dishonest.

The flu was killing people. If it had become a pandemic it could have killed 50-100 million people as in 1918. Better safe than sorry. To ignore serious potential disasters like this is to be irresponsible. Every President has ordered flu shots to be ready when threats are identified.

Will the entire industry disappear, no. Will there be less choices, yes. Want to make a wager on that?

I made an interpretation of your point. If it was wrong then explain better.

The Swine Flu was a waste and mismanaged. The regular flu is a different story.

Not even close. The flu has been killing people for years Swine flu was less of a threat than the regular flu. Every professional has said so. The government, along with the media, created this hysteria that cost us tons of money. At first, the steps taken were well founded but it went well beyond good preparation and caution into a money wasting endeavor into a sickness that had no real threat as a pandemic.

Businesses are not public servants. They are stockholder servants. It's all about profit. And that's not a bad thing. Politicians are spending too much time making business the villian when, in fact, they are the villians.

Quite the contrary. Insurers will thrive. More customers and mandatory purchase of their product.

As far as healthcare reform goes, I haven't commented about the new bill because I have no idea what the hell is in it. I'm tired of reading up on bills and then they get scrapped or significantly altered the next day. Will someone wake me up if a bill passes please?
