He already took the political hit when he earlier said that he wouldn't contest the court ruling. Obama said that he decided to fight the courts again after General Petraeus asked him to reconsider because it would cause problems in the Theatre.

Pure spin. The fact is that Obama's instincts are way off. As Purple Tiger suggested, this administration needs to weigh options and think things out before putting their ideas out there.

Karl Rove said that BO and his inner circle have a 2 hour meeting every Wednesday night going over the latest opinion polls. Hopefully they'll listen to the ones on Nationalized Health Care.

A President who can change a decision for the better is superior to one who stays the course, no matter what. When the situation changes, sometimes the plan must change, too. Mental agility and political flexibility are good Presidential traits.

A President that gauges the will of the people when making decisions is a smart President and is doing his job properly. In the Karl Rove administration it was all about the Neoconservative ideology, not the interests of the citizens.

I see the photo flop as a positive. I don't care what Obama's motives were for changing his mind. I care that at the end of the day he made the right decision.

To me this is very similar to when Jindal flip flopped on the legislative pay raise. I don't care why he caved. I only care that he ended up doing the right thing.

I agree, but the point I made that went right over Red's head was that I don't trust his instincts. You don't always get a do over.

That's right. Just ignore my answer and make snide remarks.

Damn right. But when you do get one, you've got to be smart enough and flexible enough to take it. We simply don't have to bet the farm on his instincts alone. This guy can learn and improve his position and he's conscious of what the country wants.

The Presidency should not be an OJT position. And he may be conscious of what the country wants but he'll do only what the liberals want. If you take the blinders off, you will see that he's putting us into a hole that we will never climb out of. It is not the government's job to make sure everyone is warm and cozy.

No that hole was created the last 8 years, which you fail to admit or to ashamed to realize that.

Then why didn't he prosecute Bush administration officials for possible crimes? Why didn't he pullout of Iraq instantly? Why is he stepping up the war in Afghanistan? Obama has consistently taken a moderate position and not catering to extreme views on either side. This a center-left country and Obama is a center-left President.

Who is wearing blinders? You are simply afraid of the future, without regard to what is actually happening.
