Oakland Raiders release QB Aaron Brooks

I do agree about the QB/RB comparison which is why I gave the nod to VY (notice I skipped Matt Leinart who had virtually NO offensive line this year). I prefer a pocket passer myself but VY is in a class all by himself.

Porter changed his jersey number from 84 to 81. He says he spoke to Coach Kiffin, and this change represents a new attitude.

 

How ironic would it be if Carolina picked up Brooks ?

 

I agree that our pass blocking was better than our run blocking, but it was still below average. The run blocking was non-existent in the beginning of the season and got slightly better as the year went on. The pass blocking was on and off. At time JR spent entire games moving in the pocket to create passing opportunities. he rarely had the time to plant and throw and created a lot of plays on the run.

The point I obviously failed to make was that it is not like JR is used to sitting in the pocket all day and picking his targets. He is used to having to make plays on his own.

I don't expect him to come in and win the Suberbowl his first year with that team. but I think he gives them the opportunity to instantly become a competetive football team. I just hope they resign Jeff George for the season to tutor JR.
