Oakland will draft JR and then turn their attention to their O-line early in the draft.

They have an adequate RB in Jordan (but you need to be effective throwing the ball to keep defenses from sitting all 11 guys on the line).

They have one of the best deep threat receivers in Moss (attitude excluded)...

They have an above average defense (for as much as they were on the field this past season, they did very well. They have some aging veterans in key places on defense, but nothing in "dire need" to replace for next season).

Bizarre for me to point this out but remember Lane Kiffin is the new head coach. You know, the same USC OC Lane Kiffin who was maligned all season (not by this Trojan however) for his inability to make adjustments particularly during the utla game which we lost. The biggest knock on Lane was the predictability of the play calling. If he's going to be breaking in a new QB, then there will be a limit to the amount and complexity of plays.

I guess you can also consider that Lane may not be making ANY calls and that Al Davis will simply be doing that from the booth. I don't know if that bodes any better for Russell.

As far as Moss. He's a trainwreck of a teammate, a distraction in the locker room, and a sometimes casual performer on the field. I can't see a 28 year old head coach making any headway there.

I agree. It was the run blocking that was the problem.

    :nope:
LSU ranked 24th in the country in sacks allowed at 1.46 per game, that's 19 sacks in 13 games. How in the hell good that be considered bad and cause someone to say the line didn't block anybody?

Moss will be happy to have a quarterback that can throw that ball with Moss and Porter the Raiders should be able to do some damage throwing too. If Moss stays that is Brett is tring to get him to Green Bay.

LSU's pass protection has been relatively good, especially this past season. So this statement is way off base.

Oakland's pass blocking was just plain embarrassing.

And they may take that as a compliment. I would wake up sore the next morning after watching them.

Getting hit in the pros is way different than getting hit in college. DE's in the pros will not bounce off of you.

So right. The speed of the game is exponentially greater as well.

There is an unrealistic pressure and expectation put on rookies to perform in the NFL. That's why a rookie performance like Vince Young (you have no idea how much I hate to admit it) is worthy of admiration and praise.

Yea, Reggie had a good rookie year too and there is NO pain in admitting that.

    Geaux Saints.

Yeah, but you got to admit that it is twice as hard for a rookie QB to perform well than a rookie RB/HB/WR. QBs take the responsibilities of the team, they have to manage everything, so a RB has much less pressure than a QB. So well done to Vince Young. But that doesnt mean I really like his style, Im not much on running QBs who throw in a lousy way, but still, he managed to get everything done.
