Added a new recipe to the list today. This one is quite good: Open (1) One gallon container of Ice Cream (I prefer Vanilla). Grab spoon and dig in. If you have leftovers, just put it back in freezer, then eat it another night.
I think this belongs in this thread also. I am like seriously addicted to Black Cherry Kool-Aid now. I go through close to a gallon a day. I no longer buy Soft Drinks, just chug Kool-Aid to wash down my meals. It's not real good mixed with Scotch though.
yet anoher amazing meal that i somehow left off the list one can of mini ravioli (there is more substance in a can of minis than either the micro or regular sized, trust me i investigated) open said can (much easier now that they got them pull tab type tops, so much easier than using a knife to try to saw the cover off) grab a spoon and eat directly out of can goes great with Black Cherry Kool-Aid
don't knock it till you've tried it. went out in the boat to timbalier island one evening with plans on spending the night. buddy of mine asked his mom to pack us some canned stuff to eat (meaning potted meats, vienna sausage, etc.) and some crackers or something. we never double checked her. get out there, and while waiting for the fish to begin to hit under the lights by the platforms, figured might as well eat. open the bag to find nothing but 4 cans of Ravioli and 2 plastic spoons. absolutely nothing else to eat but the bait. so we used a knife and did the best we could to open the cans. no where near as bad as y'all are thinking. also goes well with Dixie beer (also out the can, although bottles would have been better)
man i eat spaghettios out of the can all the time. damn strong meal. i have also found that a grilled cheese cooked on a george forman with wing sauce on it is incredible too.
would have never thought to try it if not for that fishing trip. hell, that was prolly close to 15 years ago, don't think I've warmed a can since.
When I was a kid, my dad and I went to the hunting camp in the off season to do some cleanup. We expected to find some pork and beans, chili, or tuna fish in the cupboard for lunch but there was nothing but four cans of sardines packed in yellow mustard. Neither of us cared for sardines before, but when you are hungry and hours away from a better meal, . . . dead fish ain't too bad.
Running Santa Elena Canyon I flipped and hung up in the tie-down straps. I had to cut myself free while under water and lost most of my gear. All that was left was bottle of Turkey and the sardines my "friends" gave me for the remainder of the trip. I learned to appreciate those little fish.
