to be honest, the only irish fans we really talked to was a couple sitting directly next to us... they were from PA, and were really quite cool... good game etiquette...

they enquired about all of our cheers and stuff and started to criticize the bandits... then I made it a point that all they ever did was clap to the beat of the band... and it was the same beat for every song...

we joked a lot and even talked about the things he'd done in new orleans...

real classy couple and enjoyed sitting next to them... more than some of the lsu fans around me actually...

The truth is a lot of LSU fans have a bad reputation for rowdiness and being drunk. ND fans have to had to deal it when ND played Miami or Boston College. Perhaps, ND fans were just wary of LSU fan's reputations.

Perhaps they and the ND football team should've been wary of our football team.
I remember a thread on the Irisheyes board that asked "LSU fans, why are you so confident?". I guess they know now!

That's exactly what it is. Every LSU fan I know sits at his\her computer drunk and rowdy while trash talking on message boards. The truth is ND knew they were going to lose and didn't want to have to hear it from us. They weren't here on the forums before the game and the only reason some are on here now is because they had a great time down in N.O. with the drunken rowdy LSU fans you speak of.

I had the same experience, well almost... she was brunette (blind @ss drunk) sitting in front of me and when they introduced/showed Rev. John Jenkins(Catholic Priest and Notre President) at the pre game, she stood up held up both her middle fingers towards the jumbo-tron he was on and screamed F*&% You Notre Dame. The LSU fans around me where for the most part mortified, some snickered. I had a lot of tiger fans tell me they where sorry for her behavior. It happens on both sides. Alcohol being served DURING college football games is probably not the best idea in the world.
