If the English lesson is over, Again, I looked at the records of ND's opponents. Only four of the twelve teams ND played had winning records. They only beat two teams with winning records, Michigan and Navy. We have already talked about Michigan-Navy did not beat a single team with a winning record. Point, ND was 9-3, but the did not play/beat anyone.
Yep. That's pretty much it, right there. But if you only listened to the media, you'd think they shalacked a bevy of top-25ers. Such a farce. I wish we could take the media out of the equation somehow.
Notre Dame was number 6 in the BCS, and I think they were relatively high in the computers. Let go of the Irish envy.
I'm no big fan of Notre Dame, but because their opponent's had poor win loss records doesn't change the fact that they were rated #6 in the BCS, the system that crowned LSU national champion in 2003. Losing to Ohio State is nothing to be ashamed about. With less talent, they beat an underacheiving team we couldn't (Tennessee), in impressive fashion, and an underacheiving Michigan team. They lost by 3 to the consensus #1 team on a last second USC score. They lost in overtime by 3 to Michigan State (how much worse is Michigan State than Tennessee?). Michigan State (5-6) Tennessee (5-6) It's funny since I checked out and shared the facts everyone got off the "Notre Dame gets special treatment from the BCS" chant. You may say that the polls boost them because of popular opinion, but I have a computer poll based solely on stats in which they were also rated in the top 8 two weeks before the end of the season.
