Fightin, I was just realizing the same thing. Many people going nuts are newcomers or people who rarely if ever post.
Saban did more for LSU and the state of Louisiana did any other coach, pollitician, priest or any other public figure in recent history. For this all should thank him. No matter what you people think coaching is a JOB and the better JOB in NS opinion is in Miami. He has accomplished what he set out to do here at LSU
You keep saying stuff like Nick didn't want to leave and it was such a hard decision and he didn't want to leave. What is your source? Crawfish? You say this stuff thread after thread but I would have to disagree. Nick has always looked over his shoulder to the NFL, that is why we've had this happen year after year after year. He's always been interested at the next level even though he has denied it at times. Nick is always been business like, this is a business and LSU was a stepping stone that helped him get back to the next level. He would've left sooner or later because of that. Heck, Ego would be a big part in this also. Its not like he doesn't look for new challenges, we did win a NC last year and its hard for a coach to repeat that when you look at all the schools and coaches that win it all and never repeat that success in recent years.
Outstanding post, spot on correct. Personally, I've spent plenty enough time reflecting on all Saban has done for the program. Being the umpteenth person to say, "thanks" does nothing to move the process of hiring the next LSU football coach forward, so I'll leave that to others. As for me, I'm eagerly waiting Skip's press conference announcing the parameters of the search...right after an LSU win next Saturday, of course! :thumb:
