Yea but black people only make up 13% of the population so thats roughly 39 million out of 300 million people. So that 14 million represents 36% of the black population. However, that 36% goes up when you factor in the number of black people eligible to vote to about 51% (Im guessing here). I dont know that number myself.
2004, I believe whites made up 59 of the population( I am guessing here) so thats 177 million whites in the population out of 300 million (round number Im using). So that 106 million represents 59.9%, which goes up as well to about 69% of those eligible to vote. Your point is well taken and I would tend to agree with my analysis.

I agree with your anlaysis and mine was obviously worded poorly. However, the fact still remains that more black people will come out and vote for Obama just because he is black. The same would happen for women if that hooker was running. And that is just as wrong as not voting for someone because they are black, a woman, etc.

And black turnout has skyrocketed because of this black man. ;)

That is called the Bradley Effect which holds that in a race between a white and a non-white there is a significant discrepancy between opinion polls and election results as a result of whites saying they will vote for the non-white, but once they get into the voting booth, they vote for the white candidate. It is named for Tom Bradley who lost his bid for the California governor's race in 1982 despite having a lead in the polls. While I am not an Obama supporter, I doubt if the Bradley Effect is very valid anymore. I would like to think that we have progressed since the early 80s. I hope McCain can cut the gap between him and Obama to within the margin of error, or better still, take the lead. But I am not counting on it.

It is going to happen, but you will never be able to tell why people voted the way they did because most would never admit it if they did vote based on race.

Obama is a far left liberal trying to pass as a mainstream candidate. I could say the same by saying the McCain does present the least amount of risk.

But realistically, Obama's economic plan is a train wreck waiting to happen, and the world pretty much knows it... so I wouldn't vote for him EVER, because I love my kids and the free market country that I hope they inherit!

I am not voting for Mc Cain because he is running against a black man.

Obama actually handles himself pretty well.

But every word out of his mouth is spend more money.

And it wasnt Republican economy policies that brought this crisis on.

It was the Fed allowing people who didnt belong in houses to get loans and providing credit for more home than these people could afford. Under arms and no down payment and interest only loans.

It wasnt just corporate greed at work it was the ignorance of home buyers who let people take advantage of them and now they want the hard working people who have good credit and did things the right way to bear the cost of cleaning it up.

A lot of the people crying about their homes getting foreclosed on have no one to blame but themselves. People in this country take no responsibility for their own actions.

They are just like our Government and they spend and spend and run up debt and max out credit cards and get in bad loans and then lose a job and they have no backup.

What ever happenned to pay as you go and having savings for a rainy day and being conservative in your spending.

He went even farther than that....the interviewer was presenting McCain talking points to the people as if they were Obama's...and they went right along agreeing with every policy.

Well, he sure has gathered the mainstream voters. He's not as far left as the right-wingers are trying to paint him.

No, McCain has moved away from the center significantly in the last 8 years. Away from the mainstream.

Like as in pasty white, dried up, chalky...

Sorry, my inner monologue got away from me there.

I'm not voting for Obama because he's a black...

nationalist who sat in Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years listening to him bash white people, call us Satan. He married the Obamas, baptized his children, and served as BHO's 'spiritual advisor' as it were. Obama speaks of whites as being "typical" in terms of their fear and "racism", and speaks of being a "spy behind enemy lines" when he got his first job in Corporate America.
