I too don't like bringing Kiffin to LSU, but not because he'll leave as soon as he gets a better job (that's what you expect any sane person to do). Even though I think he's an outstanding offensive coach and not even considering his personal, off the field antics, I don't want him at LSU because I suspect he feels that he's too good for an OC job, thinks he has nothing to learn at LSU, doesn't want to be in Baton Rogue and might cop a negative attitude that would outweigh and positives he'd bring. If LSU is Kiffin's best offer, I wouldn't blame him for taking it, but I would blame LSU for offering it. When hiring, you don't need the very best person, you need a highly competent person who wants the job and has some stability who will either grow with your organization or if in time, he outgrows your organization, you at least get multiple seasons from.
Let's see, he has been passed over how many times for HC gig this year? I'm not sure I'm buying into all this stuff.
Houston gig was his if wanted it at the buyout amount but we haven't seen any big programs come with offers not even while being at Bama all that time. That could change soon and maybe get a couple years at LSU but I can't just assume one and done at this time based on history. We are seeing Sexton using his time wisely to see where his client is $$$ wise at this moment to determine his future value when the time comes.
I was just kidding with you. I appreciate your posts (for the most part) and yes, we have agreed on several key points about LSU.
