Texas does have enough defense. The Okie St game was just "one of those games". Coaching and the athletic ability of Young (and the defense who shut OSU out after the break) did the job in the second half. They came back, down that much scoring 35 in the second half, ON THE ROAD. That sounds like a winning team to me. A&M was just a rivalry game plain and simple...But you see how Texas responded the very next week right--putting 70 up on Colorado--IN 3 QUARTERS! Texas can run with Young, pass with Young...They have four other guys with 400+ yards rushing. Their receivers catch the ball. If VY plays well, they win. The USC defense is just not good...Leinart and Bush will do their thing but it wont be the same--they havent seen a D like this yet. Texas isn't Fresno State folks....
Some very good analysis in this thread. It's been tough for me to decide which team I want to lose, as I really dislike both teams. I have only one USC friend, though, but, living in the Houston area, I know many, many, tea-sips. Going by who I'll hear from, personally, my heart says "go trojans!" and, my head is starting to agree with my heart. I think coaching carries usc over tu by a score of something like... 41 - 27.
I'm probably going to the game and I can't take this USC stuff out here anymore. Go Horns.....although I think USC wins rather easily.
You are repeating the exact words of several sportscenter guys, Kirk Herbstreit, & Mark May. How original. :thumb:
I think you were responding to TCUTiger. Note the detail in his statement. Methinks he is referring to: http://www.statesman.com/sports/content/sports/stories/longhorns/12/20texfoot.html A lawyer representing two University of Texas football players said Monday that police have no plans to charge the two in connection with a late-night incident Dec. 10 in Austin's Sixth Street entertainment district. He said Taylor and Griffin have offered evidence to police showing they could not have been involved in the Sept. 4 assault, which according to police records occurred at 3:06 a.m. Meanwhile, Longhorns receiver Myron Hardy has been charged with carrying a prohibited weapon, a "butterfly" knife that qualifies as an illegal switchblade. The charge, a Class A misdemeanor, dates to a Nov. 6 incident at Seventh and San Jacinto streets.
No....I guess rankings only matter when discussing LSU! .... if we had the 39th ranked defense, some people on this forum would be burning down the football operations office.....
Since I really dislike BOTH schools, could Texas and USC play to the first ever scoreless, 1 millionith over-time and have to put Carroll and Mack Brown at QB because they have no players left due to the fact that they killed each other?
