About 5 minutes after posting in this thread yesterday, my husband came into my office and told me that he heard that II Tony's was either open, or would be opening very soon. Good news, I thought! I loved Mandina's too. I really hope they open back up in Nola again, although I am sure it will have to be somewhere else than the "charming little establishment" that it was. I wonder how Christian's fared? Or Liuza's By The Track? So many little neighborhood restaurants that I wonder if they will be back. Agent 99 must have been on a red dot binge yesterday. Feeling better after getting that out of your system 99?:hihi:
Maison LaCour is on N. Harrell's Ferry west of Sherwood Forest. http://www.maisonlacour.com/ French food at its finest. They have an early diners special, 4-course meal for $25. Its really hard to beat if you can get there before 6:30. Heading back to Galatoire's on Sat night. Have been hearing it is hit or miss. Will update on the second trip.
Give a guy a minute to get back on the board.:yelwink2: After reading all the important info in the Den, here is your update. Food was every bit as good as it was a couple of weeks ago. Dessert still didn't impress. Opted for the chocolate creme brulee this go round. Just didn't do it for me. Wasn't bad, but wasnt' great. Hope the third times the charm, as all that remains untested is the caramel custard. Service was top notch. One of our party didn't realize his filet came with bernaise, and he didn't care for it. They took it back, and brought him a new one with crabmeat topping. No questions asked. Another top-notch dining experience.
Tried Galatoire's with my family on New Years' Day. Entrees were Ok. There was a grilled fish (?pompano) that was great. The first time they served it , the fish was undercooked. They apologized , replaced it and took it off the bill! What class! That certainly helped with the bill. We had banana bread pudding which was great- it is like banana foster topping poured onto the bread puddling. Chocolate creme brulee was fine, and the caramel custard is up to snuff. I am longing to go to Mandina's . I have yet to have a turtle soup that is better than theirs. Love it when their waiter spashes a huge spoonful of sherry into the soup when they serve it.:thumb: ________ NEW MEXICO MARIJUANA DISPENSARY
Moderate to high priced; need to order veggies as side orders like establishments such as Ruth Chris. However, you can't compare that to the prices at the restaurants in New York City; pretty much in line with a lot of the New Orleans' famous restaurants. ________ IOLITE VAPORIZER LOWEST PRICE
