There are about 393 million guns in circulation in the US and about 263 million cars. So, no, not really.

 

And I would like to add that the vast majority of gun deaths are suicides.

The second largest group is caused by pistols. Not rifles or shotguns.

So, most "common sense" laws are not really common sense.

 

Yes, really. There ARE more people with cars than guns. Many many gun owners have many guns.

Me, for example, I own one vehicle, yet 5 handguns, 3 rifles and 4 shotguns.

 

Beat me to the point.

I, myself, own 1 vehicle but own mutliple firearms. And with the 300M+ weapons and countless rounds of ammo in private citizens hands, IF law abiding gun owners were the problem, the world would know it.

 

But how many have guns in their cars?!

 

@TheRealist did open my eyes to the fact of the majority of gun deaths being by suicide. I did not realize by just how far that was true.
