But the question is IF these people have no place to go and can not be moved out the PMac, would you kick them out on the street and tell them tough ****, just to be able to watch a game in T.S.? I know that is a big IF but so was a hurricane doing this kind of damage. If you were given the choice of football or allowing these people a place to stay what would you choose?
NO ONE! that is exactly why our student athletes shouldn't be punished for something they didn't do... We have seniors here who are borderline NFL, if we DONT play, we ruin careers... this is all deeper than just a few games here or there... You lose an awful lot if you tinker wiht the formula
we don't play in the PMAC, and there are no evacuees there either... the PMAC is not a shelter... it doesn't have the 25,000 people like in the dome
if we moved 23,000 people to Houston in 2 days, we will have SOOO many more cleared out by NEXT sat... that is 10 days away...
No one is saying that the team wont play. They just might not be able to play at home. AND if they are so worried about the NFL if they show the heart to play everygame away from home, that would prove alot of worth to any NFL team.
No offense, Clair, but you are making it extremely obvious that you are probably the youngest person posting here right now. You appear to lack any sense of gravity or severity that this situation entails.
You do understand that they have not finished moving those people yet right. And the fact that there are more people in the lower parishes that need to be helped.
Comparing the emotional ramifications of 9/11 and Katrina is a fair comparison. Comparing the practical and logistical problems resulting from 9/11 to those of Katrina (1,000,000+ people displaced from their homes, jobs, schools etc.) is just ignorant.
You are right there are no evacuees in the Pmac, there are people DYING, there are people DEAD in the Pmac. The Pmac has become an ER unit.
