I usually stay out of the political type threads in here but when the title is "No Cheap Booze After 10", well, that thread is going places. :hihi: I have absolutley nothing to add to the thread.
The law doesn't apply to casinos, they must have slipped the metro council some big bucks. So I can go to the casino and drink FREE all night and its fine, but a local bar owner cannot offer drink specials to his patrons during their peak business hours. Baton Rouge Metro Council must have their heads up their asses.
again, go buy a bottle of jack from albertsons if you're that worried about it. i guess i don't understand the mindset cause i dont hang out in bars... but if i want a drink, i damn sure aint paying $7 per at an establishment.
You are missing the point. It's about big brother telling businesses what they can charge for their products and when they can charge it. Sooner or later, they'll pick on a business that will affect you. If you don't like big government, you shouldn't like like this type of legislation...
really? i was thinking all this time i listened to higher authorities than people on message boards. guess i was wrong. When the government tells me I can only buy liquor from approved businesses at approved times (blue laws notwithstanding) then I'll get upset. This doesn't affect me in the least and I usually think people should stay out of such places anyway. but what do I know.
Didn't say anything about the authoritative position of the person, just that you're used to listening to what you should & shouldn't like. Not sure what your point here is. The government does tell you these things. Only particular stores that are approved for licenses, not on sundays, not after 2am... Good point. :thumb: :yelwink2: kidding, of course...
The essence of man's fall is that he decided he could determine for himself that very thing. I guess I just don't care cause I don't drink that much or hang out in those types of places. Guess I'm a boring type of guy. :thumb:
