Yeah, what "Downfall" he's in a postion where he needs to climb up........he's already fallen.
He certainly is talking good about LSU in his press conference. I wonder how he will really feel the first time he coaches against us.
Saban is attempting to leach from the good vibes of LSU. He wants people to forget about Miami. This is pure spin.
Good point......he's trying to make people attach his LSU ties to his personna to overcome the Miami debacle. I hadn't thought of that.
Would certainly be nice if he finally retires one day and his only thought it that he should never have left LSU.
My guess is that Saban is trying to speak directly to potential recruits with such language. "See that team, LSU. I built them. They are still doing well as a result of ME. And, oh, to your parents. I really have college students in my heart. You know, I like watching them develop. Shaping them, whatever, that whole schlick."
Saban is as smooth as any politician. His speech covered his exit from Miam, introduced him self to Alabama fans, and tried to mend fences with the folks in Louisiana. He mentioned his success and goals in order to start the recruiting for Alabama. Then he threw in a subtle message to the University of Alabama Mafia, if you don't like what I am doing ("If you think someone else can do it better") fine. Get someone else and I will go to my lake house and enjoy my millions for the rest of my life.
I see your point, I guess he recruited K. Williams to? Why doesn't he say anything about his last game here when "his players" gave up that long pass to lose the game. Now that I look back at the PC I can see how he is feeding his ego. I am so glad that we have Coach Miles as our HC.
