Limbaugh is an idiot. It's all about ME to him and his ilk. Look at what he's worried about in this presidential race. Whether someone is going to take his cigars away, or tell him what car to drive, or what bag to use at the grocery! Only a fool would buy his notion that Big Business excesses are good for the middle class. Corporate greed in the form of foreign outsourcing and hiring illegals, as well as bloated corporate salaries, huge bonuses, and golden parachutes hurts all of us with rising unemployment, rampant illegal immigration, fewer pensions, fewer job benefits, and salary stagnation. Meanwhile the lofty CEO's retire young with $200 million in the bank and lower taxes for themselves. This cigar/car/shpping bag trivia is not what I elect a president for. I expect a presidential candidate to maintain a prudent balance in all things. Yes, in relations between big business and the individual, but more importantly in things like foreign policy, economics, military strength, and domestic politics. Blowhards like Limbaugh are shills for the ideological right wing, whose policies have been such notable recent failures. So they wave their arms and get you worked up that Friggin' Hillary is trying to take your cigars away! Don't pay any attention to that man behind the curtain who has frittered away American power, wealth and influence for the last seven years! This tripe is why American politics has become so bitterly partisan. Both extremes attacking the other instead of cooperating to attack the problems we face, and both political parties unable to reach the majority of Americans who are social and economic moderates.
Settle down, Red. Limbaugh is first and foremost an entertainer and he gets a kick out of rattling chains like yours. Most of the time his tongue is planted firmly in his cheek. He does not take himself that seriously and neither should you.
You won't swing Red, he is firmly entrentched in the anti rep camp. We have already been down this road and agree to disagree. Good day to you sir.
I agree with his statement in part because it is true, but not complete. Sure it would be great if every elected official was a fine upstanding lady/gentlemen who didn't take pac money, but that is not the case and it may never be the case. I personally believe that political contributions from anyone should be outlawed, but that also would never happen. I guess my point is that, yes, big business groups cannot actually sit in at a vote in congress and raise their hand to vote yea or nay, but they have learned that if you throw enough money at someone, you can probably get them to vote and introduce legislation that favors their bottom line. and because of that, i find big business groups equally responsible for bad legislation that controls the way americans live their lives. blaming just the politicians is like arresting a drug user on the street while his dealer is standing five feet away with a huge flashing neon sign that says "FREE METH! COME AND GET IT!" As for judging rush's character, as a rule i do not listen to political punditry in any form because it always leans obviously to the conservative (Fox news rush, most of talk radio) or liberal (Air america(is that still around), most political tv shows not on the fox network). I do watch and enjoy the comedy central shows, but because they are funny, not because i base my political views off of them.
This does not really make a whole lot of sense when you start tying ends together. The special interests own government, the government can hurt us, therefore the special interest can hurt us. I would agree with his arguement if the CEO did not have influence over our government. That isn't the case.
Limbaugh is a genius and is mainly putting on a show to make a lot of money...and does it effectively.
No, you misunderstand. Rush is against gay rights, which is big government telling an individual what they can or cannot do & does not go with this stance.
As it is with most other American voters. This country was built on freedom, it's best not to forget that. I never saw where he said that any of this is good for the middle class, just that they don't have the power over him that elected officials do. What are your thoughts on the invisible hand, our economy's self monitoring mechanism? If these things that I've bolded were real issues, wouldn't the system fix itself? As for the other things, certainly the government controls need to be tightened as they are not items that the economy can fix themselves. Unfortunately, not even the right wing politicians stand by this ideology anymore. Perhaps you'd like to be more specific with these "notable recent failures". Agreed.

I really didn't want to go here but I just couldn't help myself, so Red, are you telling me that you believe Her Thighness IS going to do anything with immigration, the boarders, the military ect that will be an improvment?
