Well according to this Nola.com article, LSU moved up 3 spots (from20 to 17) in the final ESPN/USA Today poll based on their giving UNC a go in their second round loss. http://blog.nola.com/lsusports/2009/04/lsu_mens_basketball_moves_up_t.html LSU ended up being the only ranked SEC team. (p.s.) I oficially sign up for the more post petition!
In hindsight, winning the SEC with 4 games to go was the worst thing that could have happened to our seeding. Losing 3 of those 4 killed us, and being SEC champs wasn't going to get any play from a selection committee who viewed the league as lower than a snake. This has got to be the lowest a major conference champion has ever been seeded. So a measure of blame does go to the selection committee, but LSU definitely didn't help itself with its performance down the stretch. Now back to that avatar...:thumb:
