Benson is going to use this as his excuse to move the team.

This may be a blessing for the Saints and New Orleans as well.
Maybe the Aints will finally be able to win?

New Orleans should be able to get a new team and start from scratch?

I dunno, New Orleans is the 31st (only edging out Green Bay) smallest market in the NFL. Looks as if they won't get another team once the Saints are out.

Right now, though, New Orleans is nothing. If the Saints leave then this will have an even greater economic impact on the city that is currently fighting for survival.

I'm holding out hope, though, that this will indeed rally the team this year (much like the Pats in the 2001 season).

Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out, Benson.

The viability of the Saints in NOLA is probably a topic best saved for later, given the sensitivities people have, not to mention lack of objectivity.

I am just amazed at some fans here. I know I rarely post here, but I am a huge LSU fan who now lives in Atlanta, and I also happen to be a New Orleans native and Saints fan.

Depsite all the tragedy over the past week, it is shocking and disgusting to me that some of my fellow LSU fans cannot put aside the old hatred/rivalry for the Saints/New Orleans and be comfortable with the Saints playing in Tiger Stadium. No matter what you think of Tom Benson (and I do not like him) and New Orleans, the team has a positve impact financially and emotionally for many in La. I would think the least LSU could do is share a state resource, Tiger Stadium, to get the economy and positive emotions going during this tragic time.

Yet some of you are worried about the grass -- the grass, for Christ sake -- in precious Tiger Stadium? You disgust me, and you should be ashamed of yourselves. We are ALL Louisianians.

    Whoa there buddy, calm down.

The field conditions are atrocious at times and with two teams playing on the surface in such conditions players would be far more prone to injury. With that being said, I stated they would need to improve their field upkeep procedures. Mind you the NFL will probably be a prime resource fo keeping the field in optimal condition.

If you have been to any game in the past few years you know how bad the field gets. You cna't play the games if the players can't stay healthy enough to continue playing on it. It is not about "the grass". Calm down.

Well, the Saints DID play in Tulane stadium before the age of the SuperDome.

And the Saints are a private business. There are a lot of private business that are more important to the state, like the oil companies and the water companies that are out of business. LSU and the state has its own problems right now and the Saints ain't one of them.

You disgust me too, new guy. Go cry on a Saints forum. You get no sympathy from me.
