They see Physical Tools, a good arm, nice release and a pure pocket passer. With him, they know what their getting. With many in the draft, they have to draft them and see what turns out.
Which makes me wonder how bad his plant leg is, underthrowing 5 balls really bad last night, 3 were picked, one should have been, and 1 that wasn't even close.

He has underthrown the deep ball all year long. I don't think the shin had anything to do with it. He was just off last night for 2 1/2 quarters. The last interception was overthrown on the deep post to Beckham.
Mettenberger reminds me of an upgraded Ryan Mallet. Tall, not very mobile, great pocket passer, strong arm .. kinda awkward looking on the field. He'll get drafted. ... late first, early second. But there are a lot of good QBs hitting the draft this year .... so I wouldn't be suprised if he, like Mallet, goes in the third.
