My problem with the legalization of the hardcore drugs like meth, crack, heroine, etc, etc. are the violence and disregard most of the users have for others around them. Many of those addicts will kill or commit violent crimes to continue feeding their addiction, where as pot users typically do not act in these fashions. Look at the population of our prisons and the violent offenders locked up for their drug crimes. Look at the ghettos all around urban America and you can pretty much blame the rotted conditions to at least one of those hardcore drugs. When was the last time you saw a pothead walking around looking to suck dick or rob a guy for a blunt?

Here's the big question, would a hardcore addict rob or kill for drugs if those drugs were readily available at a clinic?

That's a hard question to answer, unfortuantely it isn't really as simple as just the drug of choice being readily available. Those hardcore drugs mentioned above tend to "alter" ones state of mind, and makes said users do things they ordinarily wouldn't do... I have seen people on said drugs snap without notice over the most trivial shit. Later their apologetic but in the heat of the moment, those drugs tend to make people make very poor choices.

I agree to an extent, but I will say this. As bad as crime is now, I think it gets much worse with the legalization of drugs like meth and heroin. The second an addict is sick with no money for a fix, he/she will rob the corner convenience store and possibly kill the clerk to get it. Especially when dealing with a drug like meth, that makes the user psychotic.

I don't know if it was a particularly potent batch that killed him as much as the sheer amount that he did. Didn't they find like 8 or more empty bags? That's why I said it could have been suicide. He had to know he was playing with fire by doing that much.

I've known a bunch of meth heads over the years and none of them have ever robbed a corner store. Now, I did know some dudes who lived out in Hineston LA, who were selling it, by the boatload, and they killed a girl because they thought she was gonna rat on them.

I had friends in high school that got badly in to meth and crack. They actually stayed within some realm of reality and never bothered anyone until they graduated to smoking and shooting meth, at that point their paranoia took over and they started becoming violent. One is now doing life for killing a pizza delivery guy because he thought the pizza man was out to get him.

Maybe because at a clinic, they give up control. They have to go to this specific place and have someone else decide how much they can have. They probably also have to sit through a lecture about how bad drugs are for them.

Ok I give up, no convincing you guys.... I'll just stay happy with Pot. Honestly I think once pot is legalized drug use of the other kinds will decrease, and I bet for sure new user statistics will decrease.
