Saw them at Jazz Fest a couple of years ago. Amazing every song they played was gold or platinum. Great....
The live acoustic version of Hotel California is one of those songs I stop and listen to anytime it comes around on my shuffle. They took a classic and made another classic out of it. Love the guitars at the end of the song. It's rare and special that a favorite song from one of my favorite 70s bands was cut in the 90s. Sucked that so many 70s artists died of drugs in the 70s. I made it through the drug years, although it was a close thing sometimes. Sucks that so may of the 70s artists are dying of old age in the 2010s. What sucks worse is that me and these guys are in the same age bracket.
One of the all-time classic rock songs ever. He didn't die of old age. Strangely enough, I think he's a combo of what you describe. Decades of drug abuse and sex with unknown partners. I wouldn't be surprised to find Hep C or something else. Regardless, rheumatoid arthritis has so many complications with heart and lungs, add in the colitis, a compromised immune system, and it's easy to see how pneumonia finally did the trick. He was a hard-headed man He was brutally handsome, and she was terminally pretty She held him up, and he held her for ransom in the heart of the cold, cold city He had a nasty reputation as a cruel dude They said he was ruthless, they said he was crude They had one thing in common, they were good in bed She'd say, 'Faster, faster. The lights are turnin' red." Life in the fast lane Surely make you lose your mind, mm Are you with me so far
They knew al the right people They took all the right pills They threw outrageous parties They paid heavenly bills
