thats my favorite one. sounds stupid after but lots of truth in it. liked this one: 90 percent of the game is half mental.
Quite possibly the most under rated star ever. Had multiple seasons where he hit more home runs than strikeouts, I think one season he only struck out like 12 or 13 times. That is absolutely insane. There was a guy not long ago that struck out 12 times in a 4 game series.
Not only a great player but a great person When former Yankee teammate Phil Rizzuto was suffering from partial dementia and living in as assisted living facility Yogi drove the 30 miles from his home every day to visit Rizzuto and play cards with him. When Rizzuto would start to fall asleep Yogi would hold his hand until he was completely asleep before he would leave.
I knew he was a great player but didn't realize how great. Three MVPs as a catcher and was in the top 4 for MVP voting for 7 years in a row (if I heard correctly earlier this week). When you combine that with all of his other individual and team achievements, sounds like the best catcher of all-time. When you consider how important a catcher can be to a team (both on field and in clubhouse), perhaps he should be in the greatest of all-time discussion.
