I think the Saints are cursed and the kicker proved it today.

I don't think that Nick Saban or Bill Parcels could save this team.

A coordinator job is the path to a head coaching position, for sure. Crawfish is right, though. LSU will never hire another coordinator as a new head coach. We tried that with Mike Archer and it was a disaster.

LSU will hire a proven head coach in the future.

I hadn't really thought about that.

    LSU and Mike Archer...............

I think you guys are right.

Especially when you can look at the last 4 years and see what
a real coach can do here.

i think LSU, when Nick leaves, will decide to go after another proven big time D1 coach. I do mean a big name when I say proven big time coach. I think LSU is in a situation where they could reel in anyone that they wanted to. I believe it would be possible to pry away one of the top 5 coaches from their schools. what do you all think about that possibility?

Who are the top 5 coaches other than Saban? Stoops, Pete Carroll, Jim Tressel, Mark Richt, Michigan coach Carr, Bill Snyder at Kansas State. I don't believe LSU would be able to hire any of those guys away from where there at now except for Snyder.

I don't think Nick is going anywhere this year. I also don't think that Jimbo is going to be at LSU too much longer. We will be lucky if he is still here next year. He has turned down chances to go to Moo U and Cincinatti but the fact that he has the same agent as Saban and Stoops makes me think he is holding out for a better situation. The three hottest coordinators this year were Fisher, Norm Chow at USC and Mike Stoops. Stoops has taken the Arizona job. As bad as Zona was this year it will be a lot easier to rebuild by talking recruits into spending their college years in Tucson that it would be to talk them into StarkVegas or a mediocre CUSA program like Cincinatti. Fisher is holding out for an opportunity in the SEC, Big 10/11, Big 12, or ACC where they will be willing to spend what it takes to give him the tools to builid a winning program. He has learned that from Saban.

If Pasquarelli knew Saban had called someone, he would name names. No way that guy leaves it with no names, why would he? just to be nice? LOL. this way he can't be held to anything. Him and Mortenson have set a new worlds record for being wrong about Saban, this is just another bad guess by a guy with zero credibility.

you are joking I hope Orange........

What about the Oklahoma State coach (Les Miles, I think) and Rick Neuheisel (the guy can coach...screw the NCAA bracket fiasco). The Cal Coach named Tedford...he has done a lot with very little.

Those are some names that come to mind of coaches who can get things done.
