The reviews for the '07/'08 Trailblazers aren't that good, and the gas mileage looks pretty bad - 14mpg in the city, and only 20 on the interstate.

I have a 2007 Chevy tahoe and frankly its my favorite car I have ever owned (between Mitsu, Lexus, Dodge, Mazda and Ford) I am not one to keep a car long (3 years max) so I always lease and I can see when this lease is up getting another Tahoe or Yukon.
Although I got my wife a Honda Accord a few months ago. Its a great car.

My wife drives a 4 cylinder Mercury Mariner and really likes it. The gas mileage is a decent 20 city and 24 highway. It gets great reviews for safety and reliability, and looks pretty smart. You could get a used 06 or 07 for under 15K.

I have a 2003 LeSabre, and have had a number of mechanical problems, but the mileage is pushing 300K. It has driven well with no problems for the last year or so.

Yea, well a Tahoe would be great, but a little out of my price range. :hihi:

Yea, always liked the Accords but too similar to the Camry for me.

The Chevy Malibu has some very good reviews, and my dad likes the Altima coup.

The Nissan Frontier crew cab keeps coming back in to my mind... I love that truck, great gas mileage and everything. The only problem - my dad, best friend, and another good friend all have this truck already.

    I have a 2006 Honda Accord and it's great.

I also like the current body style Nissan Altimas.

The new model Chevy Malibu is supposed to be nice, although I don't have any personal experience. Might be able to get a used 2008 for a reasonable price.

    Good luck with your search!

You can get a brand new Chevy or GMC silverado standard cab for about 12K. They're practically give them away right now.

Used trucks last longer than cars. A 2-year-old Explorer or an F-150 will serve you well.

    Best Truck I ever owned...Had a 95,98, and currently a 2006 double Cab SR5. You can't go wrong.

I have two '03's, one being a Ford Explorer. It's been great, with no real problems, except I wish the A/C worked better (it's not very powerful against a Texas summer.) I don't know what they go for used.
