Not THAT different from using a DH in baseball in the sense you're only allowing ONE player to be in another one's "spot" at a time. Baseball is exclusively to hit whereas, softball can be in a defensive spot, too, sorta.
Ducks made it to the final four, that was fun. Nice legs, cute butts, in sexy pants,.. gives softball bonus points
The comment earlier about the DH and the two leages in MLB had some "tongue in cheek" influence, but the point seems to have been realized. I see people scoffing at some of the softball rules while baseball has some odd ones as well. What gets me are the comparisons. Yes, a bat, ball, three bases and home plate...it's similar game. But, at the same time it's a totally different game. Honestly, I think most being sarcastic here just don't like women's sports or just don't have respect for them (that is until they're winning and it's something to hang their hat on as a fan of a school.).
As long as they have women's sports and spend way too much on coaches it's better to win than lose. If we win that's nice and if we lose, oh, well. I won't agonize over it a single second the way I would for football, basketball or baseball. But I won't criticize the coach either. It just doesn't matter. I do watch some women's sports during the Olympics if the USA team is going for the gold medal. I can watch women's tennis. A lot of the players are hot. Especially the Russians.
