well - that talking idiot John Saunders thinks Michigan should still be #2 after today.......does ABC honestly think a OSU/Mich rematch will get ratings anywhere but the Midwest? For all thaty is holy, I hope a rematch does not happen................... EXCEPT, it will raise a firestorm in the college football universe and likely create a playoff...........i hate difficult choices.
Tim Brando wants a rematch because of the fact that it will cause an uproar and help lead to a playoff system even if it is just a plus one which is what he wants.
That can go both ways---if teams like USC have turnover and mistake-filled games, then Big Blue looks golden by comparison. I don't think UM falls all the way to #4 after that (very determined) effort verusu OSU. Fingers crossed that Fla somehow, some way makes it to Glendale---and LSU to an at-large BCS. CFN.com currently has the SEC with two bids...one in the Rose Bowl versus you know who. LSU-USC-Ah, from our lips to God's ear, eh?
Michigan should drop down to the bottom of the 1 losses. That's the MO for the polls for years. If they dont its a sham. Of course we already know its a sham.
So, islstl, do you still think that Rutgers is all that? Cinci exposed them as the pretenders that they've been all along... The top 5 or 6 SEC teams would beat them easily.
I really don't have a problem with a tOSU/Michigan rematch, but, if it is to happen, it should come through the default of others at this point... an it probably will, with Florida having Arkansas and FSU left, USC having ND and UCLA. Notre Dame is the only team I know of who could ask for... and get... forgiveness for their big loss... at home... to Michigan. I'm still waiting for these other high ranked teams to actually start playing like a contender. Although most don't lack for talent, their play has been less than impressive. There are few playing like the "machines" they are suppose to be.
The good news for any opponent is I doubt tOSU will be as "tuned" eight weeks from now... that's a hell of a lay away plan.
And that is what I based my statement on....some may question defensive play yesterday but the whole team was focused and Troy Smith showed why he should get every Heisman vote- great leader.
