    NEW ORLEANS POP FESTIVAL 1969

I was a junior in high school. Found out about the New Orleans Pop Festival at the local mall. Bought my ticket for 13 dollars. Me and two friends left Monroe heading for La Plas where the La Int. race track was.
Spent three great days in the sun, having fun and listening to great music.
The bands were as close as I can remember:
    YOUNGBLOODS
    T REX
    CHICAGO
    SANTANA
    JEFFERSON AIRPLANE
    JANIS JOPLIN
There were many more but thats been 43 years ago, and my mind doesn't work so good anymore, no not from drugs, just getting older. Thats what I remember from the summer of 69. After that living life took over. An old friend of mine says he has an old poster from the event that lists all the groups that were there.

Met Randy in '77 through a mutual friend, watched him play awesome fusion music with Gregg Wright in BR nightclubs many times, we hated disco and loved live music. He's a good dude.

I saw Randy Jackson when he toured with Journey years ago.
