Please. I drive through there twice a day. It is quite sad to see the BRSO substation get armed up and basically send SWAT in there once or twice a week.

Boy shot, dies after video game argument

JACKSON, Mississippi (AP) — An 11-year-old boy in Mississippi accidentally killed his 9-year-old brother with a shotgun blast Tuesday as the two struggled over the gun after arguing about a video game, authorities said.
The younger brother died after being shot with a 12-gauge shotgun at his home near the Red Banks community in northern Mississippi, Marshall County Sheriff Kenny Dickerson said.

"The younger brother allegedly got mad because he got beat at some video games and got the gun," Dickerson said.

Dickerson said the older brother initially said he never touched the gun. He first told deputies that the younger boy got the gun and pointed it at himself, saying "this is how I'm going to shoot you." But after more questioning, and being told that his account didn't match evidence at the scene, the older boy said the weapon accidentally discharged as the two struggled over it.

Don't get me wrong, Red. I love Baton Rouge, and I'm torn all the time between wanting to be back down there, to be "home" and wanting what's likely best in the end for my daughters, as far as education and opportunities goes.

In Plano, I can have the best of both worlds, in that sense. Top-rate public schools, many beautiful neighborhoods with lower housing prices per square foot than Baton Rouge, low crime, and a better chance of the girls being able to find work in major companies in this area when they get out of college.

Everybody does what is best for them, you are focused on kids. I don't have kids, so South Baton Rouge is a fine environment for me. I don't have bars on my windows or an alarm system. I don't fear for my safety anywhere that I go in town.

I think Baton Rouge is fine for single folks. And, yes, having kids changes perspective.
