I say make em draft ineligible for a year after opting. Add to that they have to wear a pink jersey around ANY of the athletic facilities.
The only way we’re going to stop this trend is if guys who stay get drafted higher. It starts with Smith and Chase in this year’s draft. If Smith goes higher, we can maybe start to see some of these kids come back.
Nah, just fuckin around. What do I care what an individual does that can potentially affect the outcome of the team he plays for.
Universities need to get a percentage of the signing bonus of any player who leaves early for professional leagues and does not complete their degree program. Some small amount of players do graduate in less than four years, and that would waive a school's claim on any part of a professional contract.
I thought the reason for the "opt-out" was to allow players who wanted to avoid the possibility of getting the virus to not lose a year of eleigibility if they didn't play, not to be able to take a pass straight to the draft.
