10 rounds? give me a fucking break. i'm not mr crockett, but i'm sure as hell not bad and i'm getting better. i truly train with my guns (i train with a cop friend), not just stand there and shoot at a target, which is pretty damned easy. home invasions do not always involve one "bad guy". story after story is multiple armed robbers. 10 rounds is bullshit because i want enough to go around if more than one person breaks into my home! i primarly use a glock 17, arguably the most popular 9mm sold. (omg, the horror, a big bad 9mm!) the standard magazine on the 17 is 17 rounds. there are millions of glock 17's in this country. everyone of those will have to have a new, specially made magazine that holds 10 rounds. the standard magazine for the glock 19 is 15 rounds. only the baby glock (the 26) holds 10 rounds. i know the 15, 17, and even 32 round mags for the 17 and 19 fit the 26, but i dont think the 10 round baby mag will fit the 17's and 19's. therefore, millions of newly designed mags will have to be produced. good luck with the wait on that. and that is just one brand. but the most astounding thing, is that people making the laws thinks that criminals will obey the laws. wtf? the only people they are going to limit are law abiding citizens. the crazies and criminals dont give a rats ass about the laws. eta: all the above aside, it is about the second amendment. that pesky little thing. which ones are next? first? fourth?
Didn't even think of that? What to do with the hoards of >10 round mags already out there? Will barry organize some gestapo to go house to house confiscating everyone's stuff? Nah, I would expect him to issue a statement saying "those mags are now illegal and you must not use them, lock them up and forget about them being there".
i added on the edit. if those standard mags are illegal, what do we do while waiting months (at the least) for 10 round mags to be produced? not use our guns to protect ourselves? turn in the only mags we have? fuck that. and that is why i added on my edit, what amendment goes next, and listed the 4th.

Agree with everything you all have said. Instead of addressing the problem which is keeping guns out of the hands of criminals and insane people, this law will ONLY effect law abiding citizens. The only thing that should be in this law should be better screening and screening on everyone trying to purchase a gun. You can't put a ban on something that is already out there. The clips and semi's are still going to be out there and black market gun salesmen will be giggling to the bank on this one.
actually, "make the criminals feel good" politics. because if the law abiding comply, only the criminals will have anything.
