The Constitution does not guaranteed us a "no hassle" life. Your utopia would render police work almost powerless to investigate crimes for fear of embarrassing, displeasing, or hurting someones little feelings. Police abuse can be dealt with case by case. No problem. It happens anyway. But the notion that we cannot consider any laws that may annoy a third party is just ridiculous.
how is something out of control when it hasnt even happened with this law yet? will it? of course. there are bad apples everywhere, who can take advantage of any situation. but to say it is going to run rampant is a disservice to those who serve us in law enforcement. again, you weed out the bad apples and keep the good.
Ever hear of Arpaio? He's operating directly under (signed contract) the equivalent Federal Law that the AZ law is mimicking. The AZ law gives the same authority to everyone else.
You're overreacting hysterically. Paranoia strikes deep Into your life it will creep It starts when you're always afraid You step out of line, the man come and take you away
ever hear the phrase "painting with a broad brush"? just because arpaio does that does not mean all law enforcement will. and if it is rampant in his department, the example is set from the top down. saying all law enforcement will profile because of one sheriff is a disservice to law enforcement as a whole. come to think of it, that is "profiling".
profiling is gonna happen in any law if a cop is inclined to do so. if a cop is following the law and stopping for just cause of other violations, then it wont happen. just as in any law, it depends on the whole "good cop, bad cop thing". some will, some wont. and considering the law says "just cause", it is nothing more than speculation say they will profile, imo. and if that is the case, then most laws should be tossed out, cause profiling can happen on virtually any and every law.
